Game development is hard. Especially when you are trying to learn a completely new engine. I may have gotten a bit over my head with Godot. It's a great engine, but it's not as easy to learn as I thought it would be. I'm still trying to figure out how to do basic things like adding 3d meshes etc.
Coming from Unity I felt I was pretty close to mastering that engine, and so - some would say foolishly - I thought I could just jump into Godot and be up and running in no time, but such is life, you live and you learn.
I am also trying to improve the processes around music production as I felt stuck with a mic related problem. I have a decent mic, but I felt that the sound had issues. I tried to fix it in post, but it was never quite right. The problem relates to siblances mostly. The high frequency response of a condenser mic is great for capturing the nuances of a voice, but it can also be a curse. I have tried to fix it with a de-esser, but it's not quite right. I have now ordered a new mic, a dynamic one, which should help with the siblances. I hope it will be better.
I have learned that optimizing processes is important, in all areas of life. To reduce restance in creative processes as much as possible is key to being productive. I have also learned that it's important to not get stuck in a rut. If something doesn't work, try something else. Don't be afraid to change things up. It's the only way to grow.
When you are already poor in time, you can't afford to waste it on things that don't work. Time moves quickly, and is unforgiving. You have to make the most of it.
I have also been reading alot lately, but I might save that for another post.
